Scope

This document provides test methods for random vibration standards to determine the ability of samples to resist dynamic loads without experiencing unacceptable functional degradation and/or structural incompleteness when subjected to specified random vibration tests. Wideband random vibration is suitable for identifying stress accumulation effects and degradation of specific functions. Combined with relevant specifications, this information is used to assess whether samples are acceptable. This document applies to samples that may be subjected to random vibration during transportation or operational environments, such as in aircraft, spacecraft, and ground vehicles. It is primarily used for unpackaged samples and samples whose packaging is considered part of the sample itself during transportation. However, for packaged samples, the samples and their packaging are considered as part of the sample. For tests on packaged samples, this document is used in conjunction with GB/T 2423.43-2008. If samples are subjected to a combination of random and deterministic vibration during transportation or actual service life environments, such as in aircraft, spacecraft, and container transport, it is insufficient to test the samples solely under random conditions. Refer to GB/T 2424.26-2008 to estimate the dynamic vibration environment of the samples and select appropriate test methods on this basis. This document is primarily applicable to electrical and electronic products, but also to products in other fields. Appendix A provides guidance in this regard.
