Scope
This standard specifies the methods for sensory inspection of canned foods, the determination of soluble solids content, the determination of net content and solids content, the determination of pH, and the determination of dry matter content.
This standard is applicable to the sensory quality inspection of various canned foods, the determination of net content and solids content; the determination of soluble solids content in viscous products, products containing suspended substances, and heavily sugared products, and the determination of approximate soluble solids content of other soluble substances; and the determination of dry matter content and pH in fruit and vegetable canned products.
