Scope

This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, and testing requirements for ship electric propulsion systems (hereinafter referred to as propulsion systems).
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and testing of the main machinery and equipment of propulsion systems.
This standard does not apply to side propulsion devices and all propulsion machinery and equipment powered by auxiliary power stations and batteries.
