Scope
This standard specifies the terms, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and scope of supply for marine diesel generator sets (hereinafter referred to as "generator sets").
This standard applies to generator sets used for the main power supply and emergency power supply of ships, but not to shaft-driven generators, medium-frequency and single-phase AC generators, or generators with dual-frequency output.
