GB/T 15788-2017 Geosynthetics—Wide-width tensile test
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the tensile properties of geosynthetic materials (polymer, glass fiber, and metal) using wide strip specimens. This standard is applicable to most geosynthetic materials, including woven geotextiles, nonwoven geotextiles, knitted geotextiles, geosynthetic composites, geosynthetic nets, geosynthetic net pads, and metal fiber products. It is also applicable to geogrids and similar mesh-structured geotextiles, but the specimen size may need to be adjusted. This standard is not applicable to polymer or asphalt impermeable geosynthetic membranes, but it is applicable to clay impermeable geosynthetic membranes. This tensile test method includes the determination of strength and elongation characteristics, as well as the calculation steps of cut line modulus, maximum load per unit width, and elongation at maximum strength. This standard includes procedures for determining the tensile properties of specimens under both humidification and wetting conditions.
