Scope

This part of YY 0719 specifies the operating procedures for evaluating the antimicrobial preservative effect of all multi-dose preservative contact lens care products, and provides guidelines for determining the discard date. See informative appendices B, C, D, and E. This part can be used for products with a discard date of 28 days. This part does not apply to single-use, single-dose packaged sterile products or multi-dose containers that use physical barriers to resist microbial contamination (such as aerosol containers).
