Scope

This document specifies the specimens, testing equipment, testing procedures, and test reports for ultra-high cycle fatigue and ultrasonic fatigue tests of metal materials at room temperature. This document is applicable to ultra-high cycle fatigue tests with a test frequency of 20,000 Hz ± 500 Hz, single-end axial excitation, and a stress ratio of R = -1. Fatigue tests with other stress ratios or ultrasonic resonance frequencies can refer to this method, but the corresponding specimens need to be designed and validated separately. This document does not include notched specimens, but the fatigue test process described in this document can be applied to the ultra-high cycle fatigue tests of notched specimens.
