Scope

This standard specifies the conditions for axial constant amplitude fatigue tests on metal materials at room temperature (without introducing stress concentration). It provides the relationship between the applied stress and the number of failure cycles under different stress ratios for a given material. This standard applies to axial force-controlled fatigue tests on circular and rectangular cross-sectional specimens. The testing of product components and other special-shaped specimens is not included in the scope of this standard.
