Scope

This part of GB 17378 specifies the common terms and symbols for marine monitoring data processing, statistical tests for outliers, significance tests for differences between two means, verification of analytical methods, preparation and application of internal control samples, and plotting of analytical quality control charts. This part is applicable to data processing and laboratory quality control in marine environmental monitoring, including seawater analysis, sediment analysis, organism analysis, nearshore pollution ecological surveys, and biological monitoring. It can also be used as a reference for marine atmospheric studies, investigations of pollutant input into the sea, and surveys of marine dumping and dredging materials.
