Scope

This part of GB/T 31301 specifies the safety requirements for the design, structure, and use of sanders and polishers. This part includes all major hazards, dangerous states, and dangerous events related to sanders and polishers that may arise from the operator's intended use of the machine and foreseeable misuse (see Appendix A).
This part applies to machines used in the shoe-making industry for processing materials, namely: sanders (including coarse sanders and fine sanders) and polishers.
This part does not apply to combination shoe repair machines.
