Scope
This standard provides a procedure for establishing a tolerance interval, which, at a certain confidence level, includes at least a specified proportion of the total population. This standard considers the determination of one-sided and two-sided statistical tolerance intervals, and there are two methods given for their determination. The parametric method is suitable for cases where the studied characteristics follow a normal distribution, while the distribution-free method is suitable for cases where only the continuity of the distribution is known.
