Scope

This standard specifies the design principles and technical requirements for metering and measurement solutions, automation instruments and engineering design, automatic control systems, safety protection, production management systems, and loading and dispatch systems for liquefied hydrocarbons in tank areas of petrochemical storage and transportation systems. This standard applies to the design of automatic control systems for tank areas in new, expanded, and modified projects of enterprises that produce oil and chemical products from petrochemical and coal raw materials. It also applies to aboveground steel tank areas for the storage and transportation of liquid materials such as petrochemical raw materials, intermediates, and products. This standard does not apply to low-temperature and normal-pressure storage tank areas for liquid ammonia and liquefied natural gas (LNG), nor to dedicated storage tanks for hazardous chemicals and highly toxic liquids in petrochemical enterprises.
