Scope
This standard discusses the effectiveness of acoustic barriers. It specifies the acoustic and usage requirements that users of acoustic barriers must agree on with suppliers or manufacturers. This standard can be used for the following types of acoustic barriers: a) Standalone acoustic barriers used in offices, service areas, exhibition areas, and similar locations; b) Acoustic barriers integrated with furniture and facilities in such locations; c) Portable and mobile acoustic barriers used in workshops; d) Fixed partition walls of rooms with an open area of more than 10% that have not undergone acoustic treatment. Local soundproof enclosures that separate rooms together with room boundaries and the walls of workspaces, whose surfaces have not undergone acoustic treatment and have an open area of more than 10%, can also be considered as acoustic barriers.
