Scope
This standard specifies the method for measuring the sound absorption coefficient of acoustic materials used to treat walls or ceilings, or the sound absorption quantity of objects such as furniture, people, and spatial sound absorption bodies, in a reverberation chamber. This method is not suitable for measuring the sound absorption characteristics of low-damping resonators. The measurement results can be used for data comparison and design calculations related to indoor acoustics and noise control.
