Scope

This standard applies to engineering geological surveys for urban and rural planning. In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's "Notice on Issuing the 2008 Plan for the Formulation and Revision of Engineering Construction Standards (First Batch)" (Jianbiao [2008] No. 102), the standard-compiling group, after extensive investigation and research, carefully summarized practical experience, referred to relevant international standards and advanced foreign standards, and revised this standard based on extensive solicitation of opinions. The main technical contents of this standard are: 1. General Provisions; 2. Terminology; 3. Basic Provisions; 4. Overall Planning Survey; 5. Detailed Planning Survey; 6. Engineering Geological Mapping and Investigation; 7. Adverse Geological Effects and Geological Hazards; 8. Site Stability and Engineering Construction Suitability Evaluation; 9. Preparation of Survey Reports. The main technical contents of the revision are: 1. Added terminology; 2. Supplemented the content of engineering geological mapping and investigation, and adverse geological effects and geological hazards, and made them separate new chapters; 3. Added a chapter on site stability and engineering construction suitability evaluation; 4. Proposed a quantitative evaluation method for engineering construction suitability. The provisions marked in bold in this standard are mandatory and must be strictly implemented.
