GB 44240-2024 Secondary lithium cells and batteries used in electrical energy storage systems—Safety requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the safety requirements for lithium batteries and battery packs used in energy storage systems, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to lithium batteries and battery packs used in energy storage systems (hereinafter referred to as batteries and battery packs). The applications of energy storage systems include but are not limited to:
a) Telecommunications;
b) Central emergency lighting and alarm systems;
c) Stationary engine starting;
d) Photovoltaic systems;
e) Home (residential) energy storage systems (HESS);
f) Large-capacity energy storage: grid-connected/off-grid.
The above-listed energy storage systems do not include all equipment, so equipment not listed may also be within the scope of this document.
The rated energy of battery packs within the scope of this document is generally above 100 kWh. For battery packs with a rated energy of 100 kWh or less, the safety requirements are specified in GB 40165.
