Scope

This standard specifies the principles, terminology, symbols, specimens, testing machines, test conditions, test procedures, methods of presenting test results, and test reports for torsional stress fatigue tests on metal materials. This standard is applicable to the determination of the torsional stress fatigue performance of smooth metal specimens with a nominal diameter of 5.0 mm to 12.5 mm under room-temperature atmospheric conditions.
