GB/T 11809-2021 Test method of weld of fuel rod for PWR—Metallographic examination and radiographic testing
Basic Information
Scope
This document describes the metallographic inspection and X-ray radiography methods for the welds of pressurized water reactor fuel rods (hereinafter referred to as fuel rods).
The metallographic inspection methods in this document are applicable to the inspection of the melt depth, defects, and microstructure of samples of zirconium alloy fuel rods welded by electron beam and tungsten inert gas shielding, including circumferential welds and sealing welds. They are also applicable to the inspection of the compacted zone of zirconium alloy fuel rods welded by pressure resistance welding. Among them, the thin-film etching method is only applicable to the inspection of ZrSn alloy fuel rod welds welded by electron beam.
The metallographic inspection of the melt depth and defects of zirconium alloy guide tube welds in fuel assemblies, as well as the welds obtained by other welding methods, can also be carried out for reference.
The X-ray radiography methods in this document are applicable to the inspection of the circumferential welds and sealing welds of fuel rods, the control rods, combustible poison rods, and neutron source rods of pressurized water reactor fuel assemblies, as well as the circumferential welds of other reactor types of similar fuel rods.
