GB/T 21337-2008 Geographic information—Quality principles
Basic Information
Scope
This standard defines the basic elements for describing the quality of geographic data, specifies the components of quality information reporting, and methods of organizing data quality information. This standard applies to data producers providing quality information, formally or implicitly describing and evaluating the degree of their data sets' compliance with the product specifications for domain mapping, and to data users determining whether the quality of specific geographic data meets their specific application requirements. Units involved in acquiring and purchasing data should refer to this standard to assess whether the product meets the specified requirements. It can also be used to define application models and specify quality requirements. The quality basic elements of this standard apply to digital geographic data and can be extended to identify, collect, and report quality information for geographic data sets. These basic elements can also be extended to identify, collect, and report quality information for series of data sets or smaller groups of data that are subsets of data sets. Although this standard applies to digital geographic data, its basic elements can be extended to many other forms of geographic information, such as maps, charts, and documents. This standard does not stipulate minimum acceptable quality requirements for geographic data.
