Scope

This document specifies the management configuration files for autonomous (top-level) configuration files of programs and devices that support networked storage. This document includes four autonomous sub-configuration files.
——Switch Structure: This configuration file defines the model and functions of a storage network, including topology and zone partitioning management.
——Switch: This configuration file defines the model and functions of a Fiber Channel switch, including status, device control, connectivity, and product information.
——Extender: This configuration file defines the model and functions of network devices, allowing the extension of Fiber Channel to other networks, especially in TCP/IP-based Fiber Channel networks (FCIP).
——Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) to Fiber Channel (FC) Gateway: This configuration file defines the model and functions of network devices, mapping and converting iSCSI from IP networks to Fiber Channel structures.
This document is applicable to the design, development, and maintenance of file exchange systems in networked storage structures.
