Scope

This standard specifies the voltage limits for Zone I as defined in GB/T 18379, which are used to guide the correct selection of electrical equipment for human use in both normal and fault conditions, and the voltage limits for conductive parts that can be touched in various environmental conditions. After considering several important factors, such as the fact that experience has shown that a reasonable level of safety can be achieved, various professional standardization technical committees may select voltage limits outside this standard. This standard does not address the voltage levels for patient contact in medical applications. This standard does not address any insulation systems or protection methods. The conventional contact voltage limits for power automatic shutdown defined in IEC 60050-826 are not within the scope of this standard.
