Scope

This guidance technical document provides design guidelines for nuts that comply with the requirements of GB/T 3098.2, in order to prevent the failure of thread disengagement when static tensile overload occurs. This guidance technical document is also applicable to non-standard nuts or internal threaded parts used in conjunction with bolts (in accordance with GB/T 192). However, dimensional factors such as the width of the flanges, other dimensions related to the stiffness of the nut, and thread tolerances can all affect the bearing capacity of the bolt and nut connection assembly. Therefore, verification tests should be conducted based on the calculation results. Note: In this guidance technical document, "bolts" and "nuts" are used as general terms for internal and external thread fasteners.
