GB/T 3098.1-2010 Mechanical properties of fasteners—Bolts,screws and studs
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 3098 specifies the mechanical and physical properties of bolts, screws, and studs made of carbon steel or alloy steel when tested at an ambient temperature of 10 °C to 35 °C. Within this ambient temperature range, fasteners (including bolts, screws, and studs, hereinafter the same) that meet the technical requirements of this part may not meet the specified mechanical and physical properties at higher (see Appendix B) and/or lower temperatures.
Note 1: The applicable use temperature of fasteners produced according to this part is -50 °C to +150 °C. When the use temperature exceeds -50 °C to +150 °C, or even up to +300 °C, users should consult relevant parties.
Note 2: For the selection and application of steels for low and high temperatures, refer to EN 10269, ASTM F2281, and ASTM A 320/A 320M.
Some fasteners may not meet the tensile or torque requirements of this part due to the small shear area of their heads. These fasteners include those with low head heights, those with or without external turning parts, and those with internal turning parts, such as flat-head or low-cylindrical head fasteners (see 8.2).
Fasteners applicable to this part:
a) made of carbon steel or alloy steel;
b) conforming to the ordinary thread specified in GB/T 192;
c) coarse-tooth thread M1.6 to M39; fine-tooth thread M8×1 to M39×3;
d) conforming to the diameter and pitch combination specified in GB/T 193;
e) conforming to the tolerances specified in GB/T 197, GB/T 9145, and GB/T 22029.
This part does not apply to set screws and similar non-tensile threaded fasteners (see GB/T 3098.3).
This part does not specify the following performance requirements:
——Weldability;
——Corrosion resistance;
——Shear stress resistance;
——Torque clamping force performance;
——Fatigue resistance.
