Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the radiator thermostatic control valves (hereinafter referred to as thermostatic valves); their structure, classification, and models; requirements; test methods; inspection rules; markings, user manuals, and certificates of conformity; as well as packaging, transportation, and storage.
This standard applies to thermostatic valves (with water temperatures below 95 °C) used in civil building heating systems to control the flow of hot water through heating radiators by self-acting operation, in order to achieve room temperature regulation. It does not apply to thermostatic valves driven by electric or other means.
