Scope

This document provides a test method for evaluating the mass loss of cross-linked polyacrylate superabsorbent powders during heating.
This document is applicable to free-flowing powdered polymer superabsorbent materials under specified test conditions. Within this temperature range, volatile substances (except water) may interfere with the results. It is the responsibility of the polymer formulators/manufacturers to determine whether such interference exists and to avoid using this method, provide an alternative method, or modify the method accordingly.
