Scope

This standard specifies two test methods for measuring the total thickness and cover layer thickness of steel cord conveyor belts. Method A (thickness gauge method) is used to measure the total thickness and cover layer thickness of all steel cord conveyor belts. Method B (optical method) is recommended only for measuring the cover layer thickness. This method is not suitable for belts with fabric or metal transverse members, or for cases where the end face of the steel cord is distorted during cutting.
