Scope

This standard specifies three test methods for measuring the total thickness and cover layer thickness of steel cord conveyor belts.
This standard is applicable to steel cord conveyor belts.
Methods A1 and A2 (thickness gauge method) are used to measure the total thickness and cover layer thickness of all steel cord conveyor belts.
Method B (optical method) is recommended only for measuring the cover layer thickness.
This standard is not applicable to conveyor belts with fabric or metal transverse members, or in cases where the end faces of the steel cords are distorted during cutting.
