Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements, detection methods, and evaluation methods for the detection of corrosion thinning in large-diameter overhead pipelines for industrial gas without interrupting gas transmission, and proposes recommendations for the detection cycle and the reporting format for detection and evaluation.
This standard applies to steel pipes with a nominal diameter of 500 mm or greater, transporting industrial gas at a working pressure of less than 0.1 MPa. Other corrosive media and steel pipes with a nominal diameter of less than 500 mm can also be used as reference for application.
