Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, judgment rules, packaging, labeling, transportation, and storage of edible salt. This standard applies to edible salt made from seawater, underground brine, salt lake brine, sea salt, rock salt, or lake salt as raw materials. This standard does not apply to low-sodium salt products. This standard does not apply to salt products made from other raw materials, especially by-product salts from chemical and light industries.
