JJG 521-2024 Verification Regulation of X and Gamma Radiation Air Kerma Ratemeters for Environmental Monitoring
JJG 521-2024 Verification Regulation of X and Gamma Radiation Air Kerma Ratemeters for Environmental Monitoring
Basic Information
Scope
This procedure is applicable to the initial verification, subsequent verification, and in-use inspection of portable, mobile, and fixed instruments used to measure the ambient X and γ radiation air kerma rate. The air kerma rate K·a is generated by external X and γ radiation, with the X and γ radiation energy range being 80 keV to 15 MeV; the air kerma rate range is not less than 30 nGy/h to 30 μGy/h. This procedure is not applicable to the verification of instruments used to measure the ambient X and γ radiation air kerma (cumulative dose), nor to the verification of passive detection devices such as film dosimeters, thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs), optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dosimeters, radium-platinum-luminous (RPL) dosimeters, or quartz wire electrometers. It is also not applicable to measurement systems for β and neutron radiation.
