GB/T 17934.3-2021 Graphic technology—Process control for the production of half-tone colour separations,proofs and production prints—Part 3:Coldset offset lithography on newsprint

Scope

This document specifies some process parameters and their values in the color separation and printing production of four-color or monochrome newsprint, which are selected based on process considerations and cover such stages as "color separation", "plate making", "first proof or sample", and "production printing". This document aims to enhance communication between printers, publishers, and advertisers, and to make the printing clients aware of the expected printing effects of advertisements so as to make corresponding preparations. This document defines the allowable tolerances and the basis for objective evaluation of quality, in order to enhance the competitiveness of newspapers and other media. This document is applicable to: -- Cold-set offset printing production of newsprint using color separation data; -- Digital direct imaging similar to the printing effects produced by printing presses; -- Non-periodic screen and line screen that can provide similar parameters. Although this document does not specify process control for flexographic printing, digital printing, and letterpress printing, when using these production technologies and expecting the printed products to be close to those of cold-set offset printing, the production targets defined in this document can also be used.
