Scope
This standard is used to measure the axial pressure required for metal bone screws with self-tapping properties (hereinafter referred to as "screws") to be screwed into standard materials. The results obtained using the test methods in this standard are not directly related to the axial pressure required for screws to be screwed into human bone. This standard is only used to confirm the consistency of the products being tested, or to compare the relevant performance of different products with similar dimensions.
This standard is not applicable to metal bone screws in the form of "self-drilling" or "self-drilling/self-tapping", which automatically form a mating thread with human bone when tapped in and do not require pre-made guide holes.
