Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for airborne particulate pollution.
This standard is applicable to airborne particulate testing and environmental verification in cleanrooms and clean areas, sterile rooms, or local air purification areas (including clean workbenches) in the pharmaceutical industry.
This standard cannot be used to characterize the physical, chemical, radiological, or reproductive properties of airborne particles.
Note: Within the sampling particle size range, the actual particle concentration increases with the increase in the sampling volume and changes significantly over time.
