Scope
This standard specifies the dimensions, performance requirements, and pin distribution of the 7-core 12S type electrical connectors used between tractors (cars or light commercial vehicles) and trailers with a nominal voltage of 12 V. The 12S connectors are intended for use in situations requiring more than 7 cores, and they are used in conjunction with the 12N connectors specified in GB/T 5053.2.
This standard applies to 7-core 12S type electrical connectors used between tractors and trailers.
Note: In situations requiring more than 7 cores, it is possible to use 13-core electrical connectors instead of the combination of 7-core electrical connectors specified in this standard and GB/T 5053.2.
