GB/T 30692-2025 Rules for the improvement of safety of existing escalators and moving walks

Scope

This document specifies the list of major hazards, safety requirements and/or protective measures for improving the safety of in-service escalators and automatic walkways, the verification of safety measures and/or protective devices, and the requirements for technical documents.
This document aims to enhance the safety of in-service escalators and automatic walkways for the following personnel:
—— Users;
—— People outside (but in the immediate vicinity) of escalators or automatic walkways;
—— Authorized personnel.
This document applies to in-service escalators and step-type or belt-type automatic walkways.
This document does not apply to the safety during the transportation, installation, repair, and dismantling of escalators or automatic walkways, spiral escalators, and accelerated automatic walkways.
Note: Accelerated automatic walkways typically refer to automatic walkways that have different operating speeds on their running paths during normal operation.
