Scope

This standard specifies the scope of application, terminology, technical requirements, testing, marking, and safety requirements for voltage equalizing capacitors used in high-voltage AC circuit breakers.
This standard applies to voltage equalizing capacitors connected in parallel to the break contacts of high-voltage AC circuit breakers, which are used to improve voltage distribution and reduce the rise rate of recovery voltage. Hereinafter, they are referred to as "capacitors".
This standard does not apply to high-voltage ceramic capacitors.
