Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions, usage conditions, rated values, design requirements, test conditions, test classifications, routine tests, type tests, special tests, and equipment markings for AC or DC coupled capacitors used in harmonic filters.
This document applies to single-phase DC or AC coupled capacitors with a rated voltage of more than 1,000 V, connected between the line and ground, and connected to the tuning devices of harmonic filters.
When the low-voltage terminals of the coupled capacitors are not connected to other devices, they shall be permanently grounded.
Note: Typical diagrams of the coupled capacitors applicable to this document are shown in Figures 3A.1 and 3A.2.
