本标准规定了在波长1.06 μm的标准激光腔内测量掺钕钇铝石榴石（Nd:Y3Al5O12，简称Nd:YAG）激光棒的连续激光阈值、斜率效率和输出功率的方法及脉冲能量、激光阈值及斜率效率的方法。
本标准适用于测量Nd:YAG，也可用于掺钕离子的玻璃及陶瓷激光棒。
