Scope
The first method of this standard specifies the conditions and detailed analysis steps for determining the total, soluble, and insoluble dietary fiber in food by the enzyme-weight method. The first method of this standard is applicable to the determination of total, soluble, and insoluble dietary fiber in cereals, vegetables, fruits, and their products, but it is not applicable to the determination of dietary fiber in foods containing low-molecular-weight resistant maltodextrin, oligofructose, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, and resistant starch.
