GB/T 7966-2022 Acoustics—Ultrasonic power measurement—Radiation force balances and the requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies a method for determining the total radiation acoustic power of ultrasonic transducers using a radiation force balance; explains the principle of measuring the target-intercepted acoustic field and using a radiation force balance; clarifies the limitations of using the radiation force method in the presence of cavitation and temperature rise; clarifies the limitations of quantitatively using the radiation force method in the case of divergent and focused beams; provides information on estimating the acoustic power of divergent and focused beams using the radiation force method; and provides information on evaluating all measurement uncertainties.
This document is applicable to:
a) using a radiation force balance to measure ultrasonic power not exceeding 1 W in the frequency range of 0.5 MHz to 25 MHz;
b) using a radiation force balance to measure ultrasonic power not exceeding 20 W in the frequency range of 0.75 MHz to 5 MHz;
c) measuring the total ultrasonic power of parallel, divergent, and focused ultrasonic fields;
d) measuring using gravity-type or force-feedback-type radiation force balances.
