Scope
This standard specifies a method for measuring the total radiated acoustic power of ultrasonic transducers using a radiation force balance; establishes the principle of obtaining the sound field to be measured by a target and measuring it using a radiation force balance; clarifies the limitations of using the radiation force method under conditions of cavitation and temperature rise; determines the quantitative limitations of using the radiation force method in the presence of divergent and focused beams; and provides information for evaluating all measurement uncertainties.
