Scope

This document specifies the general requirements for fixed industrial protective railings and platforms, the structural requirements for protective railings, the structural requirements for platforms, and the requirements for doors, user manuals, and warning information.
This document applies to the design, manufacture, and installation of fixed metal protective railings and platforms used in workplaces within industrial enterprises.
This document does not apply to fixed protective railings and platforms installed in nuclear facilities, ships, lifting machinery, transmission towers, mast-type towers, communication towers, and meteorological towers.
