Scope

This part of GB 15579 specifies the safety and structural requirements for welding torches (guns) used in arc welding and similar processes.
Welding torches (guns) include the main body of the welding torch (gun), cable hose assemblies, and other related components.
This part does not apply to welding clamps used in manual arc welding and cutting torches used in air arc gouging/cutting.
Note: The terms "welding torch" and "welding gun" in this part are interchangeable. For convenience, they will all be referred to as "welding torches (guns)" hereafter.
