Scope

This part of GB 15579 specifies the safety and performance requirements for wire feed devices used in arc welding and similar processes.
The wire feed device and the welding power source can be separate or integrated.
The wire feed device can be used with manual welding torches or mechanically guided welding torches.
This part does not apply to welding torches with wire spools in IEC 60974-7.
This part does not apply to wire feed devices intended for non-professional use in IEC 60974-6.
Note 1: Typical similar processes include arc cutting and spraying.
Note 2: This part does not include electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.
