Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for sintered uranium dioxide pellets (hereinafter referred to as "pellets"), as well as the requirements for pellet batches, sampling, testing and inspection, and packaging and transportation. This standard applies to pellets of various 235U enrichment levels used in nuclear reactors. This standard does not include content related to preventing criticality accidents or requirements for safety and hygiene. When using this standard, relevant national regulations on the control, transportation, handling, and use of nuclear materials must also be complied with.
