Scope
This standard specifies the conditions and detailed analysis steps for determining trans fatty acids in food by gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of trans fatty acid content in vegetable oils and foods containing vegetable oils, but not to the determination of trans fatty acids in animal fats and foods containing animal fats. The minimum detection limit of trans fatty acids in samples according to this standard is 0.05% (based on fat content).
