Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, sampling, testing rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, storage, and shelf life of the feed additive β,β-carotene-4,4-dione (Mantis Yellow) products, and describes the test methods.
This document is applicable to the feed additive β,β-carotene-4,4-dione (Mantis Yellow) Type 96, which is chemically synthesized from vitamin A ester or β-carotene as the main raw materials; and to the feed additive β,β-carotene-4,4-dione (Mantis Yellow) Type 10, which is prepared by dissolving the Type 96 product in methylene chloride, adding feed raw materials such as gelatin or starch, or feed additives such as lignin sulfonate, and spray-drying it.
