Scope

This document specifies the ordering and marking, requirements, testing, and finishing of the surface quality grades of hot-rolled bars and coils.
This document applies to the surface quality grades of hot-rolled bars and coils with nominal sizes ranging from 5 mm to 200 mm (hereinafter referred to as "steel"). The surface quality grades of hot-rolled bars and coils with other nominal sizes shall be implemented by reference.
This document applies to engineering and structural steels. Products intended for other purposes shall be implemented by reference.
When the product standards for hot-rolled bars and coils specify requirements for surface quality, the product standards shall be implemented.
