Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the alkalinity of concentrated natural rubber latex. This standard is not necessarily applicable to natural rubber latex produced from non-Brazilian three-leaf rubber trees, nor is it necessarily applicable to synthetic rubber latex, compounded rubber latex, vulcanized rubber latex, and emulsified rubber latex. Note: ISO 13773 specifies the method for determining the alkalinity of chloroprene rubber latex (see references).
