Scope
This standard classifies and specifies the performance requirements for metal materials used in the fabrication of dental restorative devices and restorations, including those used for porcelain crowns or not, or those that can be used for both purposes. In addition, this standard stipulates the requirements for product packaging and labeling, as well as the requirement to provide material usage instructions.
This standard does not apply to dental amalgam (ISO 24234), dental welding materials (ISO 9333), or orthodontic metal materials (ISO 15841) (such as orthodontic wires, brackets, bands, and screws).
